Working long into the early hours again; thinking this is becoming far too frequent an exercise but recognising that it is my most productive time…
Better late than never. I finally found the time to finish the second in a pair of oil sketches on gesso primed board painted for a client.

Bullfinch, oil on Belgian linen. Experimenting with interesting and distressed backgrounds involving a lot of glazing, scumbling, and scraping back. Love the process - hope it reads as a finished work!
